There is no denying the successes of Audi on the track, but Audi Sport, as such, was born on the road and for the road. Unless the quattro’s victories in the 80s are suddenly less cool than the ones achieved at La Sarthe’s racetrack.
I also find it funny that the TT is leaving a garage with a sign in Spanish (Salida, “exit”). It must be a good market for them.
Such a pity they could not use the original version by S&G. Whoever that girl is, I am not impressed with her rendition.

The thought of having any of these in a nice european tour, just perfection.

Rewatching the ad, the cover wasn’t really that bad. I mean, you were a bit hard on it.

I did not say she was horrid, just that I was not impressed with the way she did it.
On the other hand, it is probably an age thing. For me, that song is very much part of Simon & Garfunkel, and any cover would always probably be perceived in “not so good” terms.
Also, some covers just ain’t good enough. I only knew “Tainted Love” through Soft Cell. Actually I did not even know it was not theirs. When I heard the original version by Gloria Jones I was blown away. I suggest you listen to Soft Cell’s version and then to Gloria’s (YT, there are lots of clips), and you’ll see what I mean.
Having said that, some covers can take the original material, make it different and, on its new, completely different level... even better. A case in point, The Doors’ “Light my fire” by José Feliciano, or Dolly Parton’s “I will always love you” by Whitney.
Hope you liked Simon & Garfunkel’s version anyway.

Wheelerguy, about cover versions...
What do you think of this (a different take on Radiohead’s
Creep)?
She should obviously improve her pronounciation of English. I find her performance fascinating nonetheless.
